	Hans Anderson wrote the Tinderbox around 1830, having heard it as a child. He said that he wanted his reader to "Feel the presence of the storyteller". This powerful story of magic and romance is a lovely story to tell and will keep listeners enthralled to the end. Graham's version explores the young soldier's life before his strange, life changing encounter with the old hag. Graham uses the time before the story begins to show the children a working tinderbox.
